All of our eye examinations are there to make sure that if you have a problem with your eyes we will catch it and correct it quickly.
As such, they involve a visual acuity test to assess your eyesight, a series of eye health tests including screening for diabetes and glaucoma, and a set of questions about your medical history and symptoms.
With this information, your optometrist can provide you with a personalised recommendation and explain any care or vision correction you might need.
ENHANCED EYE EXAM WITH OPTOMAP & OCT
For a more in-depth assessment of your eye health, we offer enhanced eye examinations. These exams are designed to provide a complete evaluation of your internal and external ocular health as well as the tests carried out in a standard exam.
To do this we use two amazing pieces of technology: OCT and Optomap. OCT is used to examine the layers in the back of the eye by creating a 3D digital image; this allows an optometrist to look for abnormalities that could lead to sight-threatening conditions.
Optomap is a retinal imaging system that allows for a much more detailed examination of your retinas and also provides vital diagnostic information.
Our private sight test includes the OCT as standard and we strongly recommend this enhanced test for our NHS patients as well.
